The EDEKA-Arena was opened in 2023 and has been part of our portfolio ever since. Its location defines a new southern entrance area for the exhibition center and is based on a connection to the Baden Arena. When events begin, the hall can be accessed not only from the side and rear, but also from above, with a view over the seating. The hall will have a telescopic grandstand with 1,750 seats.
The floor plan of the hall is designed to offer maximum flexibility for all event scenarios. The architecture of the building and its façade design are based on the structure of the volumes and the alternation between large glazed foyer areas and largely closed hall wall surfaces.
The EDEKA-Arena borders the central internal exhibition area to the south. Its position defines a new southern exhibition entrance area and is based on a connection to the BADEN Arena.
The new building consists of three structures of varying heights: the 19-meter-high hall, the angular two-story foyer, and the eastern warehouse.
The southern exhibition entrance is powerfully defined by the foyer that wraps around the corner. The entrance plaza runs directly under the roof, which protrudes significantly in two directions, and is level with the front foyer. Visitors coming from the south pass through the security checkpoint here and enter the actual foyer, which faces the exhibition forum. This is a space almost 100 m long and 7 m high, from which the event hall is accessed from the side. The north foyer is spatially divided by the conference room inserted in its center, which is accessed from the gallery on the first floor. The western part of the foyer extends upwards with an open staircase and two air spaces, as the upper tiers of the grandstand are accessed from level 2. In addition, there is a front entrance to the hall on level 0.
